The question is, is there a way around this limitation? The answer is absolutely, yes. Resonant converters use additional inductors and capacitors in a tank circuit that produces sinusoidal voltage and current waveforms. That resonant tank circuit is part of the converter. The sinusoidal output of the tank circuit is rectified and passed through a low-pass filter to create the desired DC output voltage and current.
