This slide lists the details of the L6699 control chip, including several functions and features that are noteworthy. One of the most important features is an auto-adjusting adaptive dead-time. In addition to that the improved burst mode function realizes low standby power consumption. The anti-capacitive mode protection, the latched disable input function, and a separate input for brownout protection increase the robustness of the power supply designed around this IC. In addition, it also features a nonlinear soft-start function, which ensures monotonic output voltage rise at start-up and an enhanced control method that prevents any dangerous hard-switching from occurring during start-up. One feature that is not mentioned on the slide is that the L6699 is pin-for-pin compatible with the original L6599A, therefore switching from one to the other is a very simple process.
