On this slide is shown the L6699 soft-start mode compared with that of the L6599A IC. As can be seen, with the L6599A IC, the start-up can get quite involved. By preventing body diode reverse recovery, the control scheme of the L6699 IC gives smooth startup performance whether or not the resonant capacitor is charged or discharged.
