PTC-Slide17

Two common terms to know for PTC fuses are steady state current and trip current. Steady state current is the highest current that the PTC can take over the entire application temperature range without heating the PTC above it’s transition temperature. The trip current is the current level that sufficiently heats up the PTC so that it switches into its high resistance mode.
