TI’s low frequency MicroReader is equipped with a standard Serial Communications Interface (SCI) which may be directly connected to commonly used system controllers. This device works together with a 47 mH, low-Q antenna which results in the system not requiring any tuning. The MicroReader can interrogate all TI low frequency transponders and requires a single 5V supply making it possible to be easily operated with battery power. Other features include a low power consumption (100 mA when transmitting), support for both wireless and wired synchronization techniques, control by input signals or via the serial command protocol, two outputs available to show the reader status, and standard industry operating temperature range.
