By adding a large input capacitor, the source impedance is reduced. The capacitor also de-couples the inductance of the connecting wires. It will ensure system stability under all operating conditions. In most applications, a 10 to 33 μF electrolyte capacitor is recommended, and it should be placed close to the input of the DC/DC converter.
