FTDI's FT311D supports Android Open Accessory (AOA) for easy integration and fast development

Image of FTDI's FT311D USB Android Host IC FTDI's FT311D IC allows designers to bridge an interface on their peripheral hardware to an Android tablet or smartphone platform over the Android USB device port. The FT311D will enumerate the Android platform and provides an interface via FPIO, UART, PWM, I2C Master, SPI Slave, or SPI Master between a customer's Android platform and their peripheral hardware.

Features

  • Basic UART function: RX, TX, RTS, CTS with TX Active
  • Supports 4 PWM channels
  • FT311D includes host stack, class driver, open accessory driver, and I/O bridging functionality
  • 3.3 V single supply, with 5 V tolerant I/O
  • Extended temp range (-40°C to +85°C)
