In the illustrated circuit diagram example shown, the SMD PTC thermistors can be used in fan controllers and thermal shut down circuitry for notebook and laptop computers in order to avoid critical overheating temperatures. An SMD PTC chip thermistor placed in a series connection can be used to monitor multiple “Hot Spots” simultaneously in such application requirements as point-of-load power distribution architectures commonly found now in notebook and laptop computers.
