A PTC chip thermistor is a ceramic component that exhibits an electrical resistance that increases rapidly when a certain temperature is exceeded, thus allowing this material’s property to be used in countless applications in today’s electronics. An example is a re-settable fuse used against current overload or as a sensor that detects local overheating. The focus of this PTM will be chip thermistors that are designed for over heating, temperature sensing.
