An input divider network is used to scale and level shift the input signal to match the ADC core voltage range, eliminating complicated circuitry required to directly interface true bipolar signals. This enables the LTC2338 to operate from a single 5V supply rather than requiring split ±15V supplies which consume more power. The LTC2338 family includes a low drift 20ppm/°C max temperature compensated reference with a single-shot capable reference buffer and are packaged in a small 16-Lead MSOP packages, making them the smallest solution size compared to equivalent ±10V SAR ADCs on the market. The serial SPI interface supports 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V, and 5V logic, while also featuring a daisy-chain mode. This is useful for applications where hardware constraints may limit the number of lines needed to interface to a large number of converters.
