Sensores de movimiento - ópticos
Los productos de la familia de sensores ópticos de movimiento utilizan luz (por lo general, infrarroja) para detectar el movimiento de los objetos. Los infrarrojos pasivos detectan cambios en la cantidad de luz infrarroja que cae sobre el sensor, como la que causa un cuerpo cálido al pasar a través de su campo de visión, mientras que los tipos reflectantes de área emiten luz y detectan cambios en la cantidad que reflejan los objetos cercanos. No se incluyen los productos como las cortinas de luz para la seguridad de las máquinas que detectan la presencia de objetos en lugar de movimiento.
